AGT, Tracking Carbon Footprints

AGT, a pioneer in the sector, is tracking carbon footprints and meeting 20% of its energy consumption from its own green energy source derived from waste materials.

AGT, which has been carrying out its activities in the decoration and furniture sector by developing wood with passion and technology for many years, obtains 20% of its production from green energy sources as part of its sustainability goals.

Since its establishment, AGT has continued its production without compromising its ethical values and quality principles, demonstrating a socially and environmentally conscious approach. The brand uses renewable energy sources in the production of products it has delivered to over a thousand sales points on five continents. By aiming to reduce its carbon footprint through the use of green energy in production, the brand contributes to the preservation of nature.

AGT offers limitless designs by utilizing its rich product range. With its advanced technology, it adds value to its raw MDF products made from natural wood, providing superior features and offering solutions that are most suitable for the needs of the time. Positioned as an innovative and design-focused brand in the industry, AGT combines technology and innovation in the production of MDF, MDF-lam, panels, profiles, and parquet. The company, which holds certificates such as EO, Blue Angel, EPD (Environmental Product Declaration), Zero Waste, and Greenguard, emphasizes its commitment to environmentally friendly production and draws attention to the responsibility of the manufacturing sector in reducing global climate change and carbon footprint. In this context, AGT uses Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) biomass power plant, which is one of the most efficient energy production methods for the environment, to generate green energy using their own waste materials, and certifies this production with Renewable Energy Source Guarantee (YEK-G).

Mustafa Söylemez, the CEO of AGT, emphasizes the importance of sustainability policies and our responsibility to protect nature, stating, “We produce green energy by utilizing the waste materials obtained from our own facilities through our biomass power plant. We obtain 20% of the energy we use in production from renewable energy sources. Thus, we prevent the emission of 30,615 metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) annually through the energy we regenerate.”

AGT’s energy production prevents the greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to approximately 7,000 passenger vehicles used for one year, the electricity consumption of 6,000 households for one year, and the carbon dioxide emissions resulting from the use of 15,600,000 kg of coal. It also prevents greenhouse gas emissions resulting from 11,000 tons of recycled waste and carbon sequestration by 510,000 trees.

AGT complies with ISO 50001 Energy Management System and ISO 14064 Carbon Footprint audits.
